Vacuum insulated tanks (VIT’s) either stationary or mobile are widely used in process and health care industry for the transportation/ storage of cryogenic liquids.
These tanks have two walls; inner to store cryogenic liquid at ultra-low temperature and high pressure of upto 16 bars and outer shell is kept at low pressure of 0.1mbar by creating vacuum.
Vacuum of outer shell plays an important role to minimize the evaporation rate of cryogenic liquid at inner shell.
